SADR MAJLIS ANSARULLAH GHANA PARTICIPATES IN EAST & CENTRAL AFRICA REFRESHER COURSE IN NAIROBI, KENYA

Overview

Sadr Majlis Ansarullah Ghana took part in the East and Central Africa Refresher Course held in Nairobi, Kenya, from October 17 to 19, 2025. This significant event was approved by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) and allowed representatives from various countries across the region to convene for this important program.

Although Sadr Sahib was granted permission for two Amla members to join him, financial difficulties necessitated that Sadr Sahib make the trip alone.

Understanding the Refresher Course

The refresher courses for Ansar office bearers throughout Africa were initiated under the guidance of Mr. Abdul Khaleque Talukdar, the Head of Majlis Ansarullah Markazia. The goal is to strengthen Majalis by enhancing their capacities, providing essential guidance, and fostering a deeper understanding of administrative duties.

The last West Africa English-speaking Refresher Course took place in Accra four years ago, while Tanzania hosted the East and Central Africa iteration in 2024. These programs serve as vital platforms for office bearers to review their responsibilities, exchange experiences, and cultivate mutual cooperation within the spirit of Islamic brotherhood. Additionally, meetings of Sadran during the UK Jalsa Salana play a crucial role in enhancing coordination among Majalis worldwide.

Journey to Nairobi

Sadr Sahib departed Ghana on October 14, 2025, via Kenya Airways, with the Greater Accra Regional Amila facilitating all travel arrangements, including chauffeur service from his home to the airport.

Upon arrival in Nairobi in the early hours of October 15, Sadr was warmly welcomed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by a distinguished delegation, including the Naib Ameer of Kenya Jama’at, Mr. Habib Mohamed Shatry, and other key members. The delegation treated Sadr to a hearty breakfast before escorting him to the hotel for international participants. He later joined the Jama’at at a historic mosque within the Mission House compound for Zuhr prayers, where he engaged with several dignitaries and enjoyed a lunch hosted at the Mission House.

That evening, the guests participated in a special dinner attended by the Ameer of Kenya and notable Jama’at elders.

Sadr was met at the JKIA by a delegation of Brother Sameer Sahib (shaking hands with Sadr and Brother Ishmael Sahib (with Sadr’s luggage).

Pre-Program Activities

The days leading up to the main program, October 16 and 17, were dedicated to Mulaqat sessions with Mr. Abdul Khaleque Talukdar. Delegations were paired based on their size, with Ghana partnered with Zimbabwe, a newer Majlis seeking guidance on foundational administration. Sadr Sahib used this opportunity to clarify issues related to elections and delegate ratios.

Mr. Talukdar also elaborated on Huzoor’s guidelines regarding the Majlis Ansarullah scarf and presented Sadr with samples, an Ansar flag, and a special pen from Huzoor’s office. In return, Sadr gifted souvenirs to Mr. Talukdar and Majlis Ansarullah Kenya, including T-shirts and Al-Noor Magazine copies. On Friday afternoon, after Jumu’ah prayers, the delegations toured the MTA Africa–Kenya Studios.

The Main Program

The main event commenced at dawn on Saturday, October 18, with Tahajjud and Fajr Salaat, followed by a Dars by Sheikh Nasir Mahmood Tahir, Ameer of Kenya. The official opening included Tilawat, an opening Dua, and the recitation of the Ansar Pledge led by Sadr Kenya.

The keynote address by Mr. Talukdar emphasized the origins of the refresher course and encouraged participants to share knowledge for maximum benefit. The agenda continued with presentations, discussions, and exchanges aimed at reinforcing the administrative and spiritual capacities of Ansar office bearers in East and Central Africa.
