The Sekyere East Zone of the Majlis Ansarullah, Ghana, held its Annual National Ijtemaa on 1st September 2024 at Asamang in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region. The Ijtemaa, held on the theme “Good Leadership and Positive Change – The Role of a Nasir”, was attended by members from all the circuits within the Zone.
Speaking on the theme, Mr. Suleman Manu, Ashanti Regional Qaid Umumi, emphasized the importance of “Good Leadership and Positive Change” in the context of a Nasir, or helper of Allah. He discussed various leadership styles, highlighting “transformational”, “servant”, and “democratic” leadership as essential for fostering positive change within the community. He further stressed that good leadership involves effective time management, meaningful communication, building trust, and self-awareness. Mr. Manu encouraged office-bearers to adhere to the constitution and program of activities of the Majlis to achieve the intended goals. He concluded by urging leaders to pray for guidance and support in their roles, reinforcing the idea that with dedication and faith, they can bring about positive change in the Jama’at.

The Ashanti Regional Nazim of Majlis Ansarullah, Ghana, Alhaj Sherif Adusei, in an address, clarified the monetary contributions members make towards the progress of the Majlis and encouraged all to be regular in meeting their financial obligations towards the Jama’at.
Mr. Jamil Ibrahim Badu, the Ashanti Regional President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, also took the opportunity to conscientize members of the Jama’at on preparations for the next Jalsa Salana while the Sekyere Zonal Qaid Umumi, Mr. Hamza Fehey, read the annual report detailing the various activities undertaken by the Zonal Majlis in the past year.

The program was also graced by the Assembly member for Tikrom-Baworo Electoral Area, Hon. Stella Oduro Boateng and the Obaahemaa of Asamang, Nana Abena Konadu. The Assembly member spoke on the importance of free and fair elections, urging Ghanaians not to be swayed by political parties for short-term gains and the Obaahemaa expressed her gratitude for the invitation and called on the Jama’at to build a school in the community to promote education.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Abdullah Ayyub, Qaid Talim, who deputized for the Sadr as the Chairman for the occasion, encouraged members of the Majlis Ansarullah to study the hadith by following the Majlis Ansarullah syllabus and requested the Zonal Nazim to ensure that all members have copies of the Ansarullah syllabus.
