GREATER ACCRA REGION MAJLIS ANSARULLAH HOLDS ANNUAL IJTEMA’A WITH EMPHASIS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF FINANCIAL SACRIFICE IN ATTAINING RIGHTEOUSNESS

“Never shall you attain to righteousness unless you spend out of that which you love…” – (Holy Qur’an 3:93)

On Sunday, 17th August 2025, Majlis Ansarullah Greater Accra Region successfully held its annual Regional Ijtemaa at the Insaaniyya Mosque, Kasoa. The event, which drew a total of 273 participants, including three members from the Dambai new converts area, was themed “The Importance of Financial Sacrifice in Attaining Righteousness.” This year’s theme touched on the very foundation of Islamic faith and practice, encouraging deeper introspection into the role of financial sacrifice in the spiritual journey towards paradise.

The Ijtemaa began promptly at 8:00 AM with a spirited route march through the principal streets of Kasoa, ending at 9:00 AM. This peaceful display of unity and discipline drew positive attention from the community and was a prelude to a day filled with spirituality, reflection, and purpose.

The Regional Nazim, Mr. Wahab Boadi, officially welcomed participants and expressed his appreciation for the enthusiastic turnout. He shared the remarkable success story of the previous year’s joint Ijtemaa held in Dambai with the Volta Region, which led to the conversion of about 45 new members across three communities in Dambai, Oti Region.

Mr. Nasirdeen Issahaque, Chairman of the Oti New Converts Area Development Committee, and Greater Accra Regional Naib Nazim Isha’at, updated members on the Dambai Projects, now recognized as a National Ansarullah Project. He expressed deep gratitude to Allah and the Greater Accra Regional leadership for their support, recalling the previous year’s joint Ijtemaa with the Volta Region that led to three new Jama‘ats with nearly 50 converts. He revealed that parcels of land were donated for mosques and mission houses, with one mosque already under construction. Emphasizing the need for ongoing Tarbiyyat and follow-up to avoid neglect, Mr. Issahque assured strategic oversight by Missionaries and Zonal leaders. He called for financial, material, and moral support to sustain mosque building efforts and Jama’at growth in the area.

The highlight of the Ijtema’a was the keynote address delivered by Alhaj Abass Bin Wilson, General Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana. His speech, titled “The Importance of Financial Sacrifice in Attaining Paradise,” deeply resonated with all attendees. Referencing the Qur’anic verse (19:64): “Such is the Heaven which We give for inheritance to those of Our servants who are righteous.”, he stressed that righteousness (Taqwa) is the non-negotiable requirement for entering paradise.

Alhaj Wilson emphasized that true righteousness (Taqwa), essential for paradise, is shown through actions, especially financial sacrifice. Citing Qur’anic verses and Hadith, he highlighted that spending from what one loves reflects sincere faith (Imaan) and replaces physical Jihad in this era. He urged attendees to see regular financial contributions as a sacred duty, key to attaining paradise.

Among the distinguished guests at the Ijtemaa were the Assembly Member of the area and a well-known pastor who regularly attends Majlis programmes in Kasoa.

Awards and citations were given to distinguished members for their sacrifices towards the growth of the Majlis Ansarullah in the region over the years.

The Chairman for the occasion, Sadr Majlis Ansarullah Ghana, Alhaj Ali Muhammad Katu, in his closing address, added his voice to the national discourse over the destructive activities of illegal miners (Galamsey), warning of the long-term environmental and agricultural damage, particularly to water bodies and cocoa farms. He urged the government and citizens alike to champion responsible mining practices, ensuring that Ghana’s resources are a blessing, not a curse. He extended heartfelt appreciation to the Ijtemaa organizers, speakers, and attendees for their dedication and discipline, and praised the brotherly spirit exhibited throughout the day.
