ASHANTI REGION MAJLIS ANSARULLAH HOLDS 38TH ANNUAL REGIONAL IJTEMAA

The Ashanti Regional branch of Majlis Ansarullah Ghana (the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Organization) held its 38th Annual Regional Ijtemaa (rally) on 11th to 12th July 2025, at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Conference Hall, Asafo Mosque in Kumasi. The Ijtema’a, chaired by Alhaj Ali Mohammad Katu, Sadr Majlis Ansarullah, Ghana, was under the theme “Discipline in the Majlis – The Role of a Nasir”.

 Day One: Sports and Academic Competitions

The Ijtema’a commenced with a sports segment following the Jumah prayers, featuring activities such as hit-the-target, picking of cones, a 50m sprint, and volleyball. As night fell, the religious academic competitions took place after Maghrib and Isha prayers, chaired by Hafiz Ahmad Sam, Naib Nazim Taleem ul Qur’an for the Ashanti Region.

Participants competed in various categories in the religious academic competitions, including:

  • Qur’an Recitation
  • Qur’an Memorization
  • Selected Hadith
  • Oral Quiz on Islam, Ahmadiyya, and Al-Wasiyyat
  • Prayers prescribed by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V

The first day’s events concluded successfully, showcasing the talents and dedication of the participants.

Day Two: Spiritual Insights and Community Engagement

The second day began with Tahajjud prayers, followed by a dars (lecture) on “The Responsibility of a Nasir in a Family: Physical, Moral, and Spiritual Development,” delivered by Mr. Jamil Yusuf, Deputy School Imam at T.I. Amass, Kumasi. This session emphasized the importance of active parental involvement in children’s upbringing.

At 9:00 am, the final session commenced under the chairmanship of Alhaj Ali Mohammad Katu, Sadr, Majlis Ansarullah, Ghana.  Mr. Abdullah Baidoo from Sekyere East Zone recited a portion of the Holy Qur’an and its translation, followed by Mr. Mubarak Ahmad Bin Abdallah, who recited an Al-Qaseedah.

The Regional Nazim, Mr. Ahmed K. Boampong, led members in reciting the Ansarullah Pledge in both English and Twi languages while the Regional Missionary, Maulvi Sayed Neematullah Taier, opened the session with a prayer, encouraging members to actively participate in their children’s upbringing and to embody the responsibilities of being a Nasir.

Key Addresses

Mr. Sadique Boateng, Regional Naib Nazim Isha’at and Headmaster of Bankoman SHS, spoke on the topic “Sacrifice and Dedication are Essential Ingredients for Progress of the Majlis.” He urged members to become more committed to their financial obligations and contribute to the progress of the Majlis.

Muallim Ishaq Kwadwo Kassim, a Missionary at Kumasi T.I. Amass, addressed the participants on the theme of the Ijtema’a, “Discipline in the Majlis – The Role of a Nasir”. He highlighted the importance of moral conduct in families.

Afterward, a question-and-answer session on the Al-Wassiyat scheme was led by Maulvi Mumtaz Quaye, Zonal Missionary for Sekyere East Zone.

Mr. Suleman Manu, Ashanti Regional Naib Nazim Ummumi, presented the annual report covering the years 2023-2025, noting that the region had excused itself from holding its regional Ijtema’a the previous year due to hosting the National Ijtema’a.

Conclusion and Future Events

Certificates and awards were presented to the winners of the academic and sports competitions, followed by a health Q&A session led by Dr. Sardick Kyei Faried.

The Chairman, Alhaj Ali Muhammad Katu, in his closing remarks, urged members to implement the teachings shared throughout the event and emphasized the importance of financial contributions for the upcoming National Ansarullah Ijtema’a scheduled for September 24-28, 2025, at Techiman Senior High School.

The Regional Ijtema’a was attended by 293 members from all the Zones in the Ashanti Region.
