The Majlis Ansarullah Sekondi Zone held its first Annual Ijtemaa at the Inchaban Mosque on 25th August 2024 with 86 participants under the theme “Peace, a Necessary Tool for National Development and the Progress of Islam”.
In his welcome address, the Zonal Nazim, Mr. Sadick Amein, spoke about members’ commitment to Jamat activities in which he admonished members of the Majlis Ansarullah to ensure that they set good examples for others to emulate. He also cautioned members to refrain from activities that could lead to electoral violence before, during and after the elections.
Dr. Ishaque Ampiah from Sycamo Hospital in Takoradi-Adientam in an address, talked about the causes, prevention, and management of hypertension. He emphasized the importance of regular exercise, reducing salt, fat, and alcohol intake, adhering to prescribed medications, and scheduling regular check-ups to prevent hypertension.
Mr. Uthman Bin Abdul Hakeem, Naib Nazim of the Sekondi Zone, spoke about marital challenges, emphasizing solutions through Islamic principles. He cited the Holy Quran 64:16-19, highlighting that wealth and children are tests from Allah, with great rewards for the steadfast. He stressed the importance of fearing Allah, obedience, and charitable spending, noting that overcoming desires leads to success.
The Guest Speaker, Alhaji Yusuf Kofi Gyamson, Rishtanaata Co-ordinator of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission and a member of the Western Regional Peace Council emphasized the importance of peace at the Ijtemaa. He urged members to promote peace, avoid political violence, and heed Huzoor’s teachings against crime. He referenced several Quranic verses highlighting the dangers of Muslim conflict and the principles of peace. He concluded by questioning the value of political positions if they lead to harm, stressing that such titles cannot be taken into the afterlife.
The Chairman for the occasion, Mr. Yakubu Salil, the Sekondi Zonal President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim mission, who represented the Sadr, urged members to be considerate in their treatment of their wives and children. He emphasized the importance of working diligently to promote peace before, during, and after the elections. Mr. Salil advised that if a politician encourages you to incite trouble or engage in political violence, you should ask them to send their own son or daughter to lead the effort. Even if they agreed, he implored everyone not to participate.
