A colorful ceremony was held on 31st December 2023 at the National Headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana at Osu-Accra where the Outgoing Sadr of Majlis Ansarullah Ghana handed over to a new Sadr to begin the new Majlis Year from 1st January 2024.
The impressive ceremony officiated by Acting Ameer, Alhaji Abdul Wahab Issah, Naib Ameer 1, saw the Outgoing Sadr, Alhaj Majeed Saeed handing over the affairs of Majlis Ansarullah Ghana to the newly elected Sadr, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Katu.
The Acting Ameer, representing our respected Ameer, Alhaj Mohammed Noor Bin Salih who was unavoidably absent, urged the new Sadr to continue striving for Allah’s cause. He said that embarking on such spiritual assignments would endear them to Allah who will forgive them and support their endeavors. He cited the example of Hadhrat Ibrahim (AS) and his son Hadhrat Ismael (AS) who, while still constructing the Ka’ba were still supplicating to Allah to bless and accept their efforts.
The Outgoing Sadr, Alhaji Majeed Saeed, recounted the evolution of the Majlis Ansarullah from 1987 to date. He recognized the contributions of all the former Sadran as each Sadr built upon the work of their predecessors. He thanked all the Amla members and the various Nazimeen for their support and contributions, which enabled him to move the Majlis forward. He urged leadership and the entire Majlis to extend the same level of support that he enjoyed to Alhaji Katu and his executives.
In his remarks, Alhaji Katu, the new Sadr, said that he would focus attention on empowering members to achieve the objective of the Majlis as set out in the constitution of the Majlis Ansarullah. His team, he said, will organize a workshop on the role of Office Bearers for each of them to appreciate their roles. He indicated that he would map out strategies on how to augment membership of the Wasiyyat scheme by increasing members’ understanding of the spiritual benefits of the New World Order. The Sadr added that members, as heads of their families, could encourage their wives and children to enroll in the noble scheme. In that respect, though the Majlis has no department for Wassiyat, a Muawin Sadr Wasaya had been appointed.
He added that an appointment had been made for Zonal Nazimeen to serve in all Zones in the country (Created by the Mission) in addition to four Regional Nazimeen – Greater Accra, Central, Ashanti, and Upper West Regions. Alhaji Katu called on all members to put their shoulders on the wheel to move Majlis Ansarullah to new heights.
